Very quickly - and for the first time in living memory - it will be almost impossible to visually locate police cars from the crowd.
For years, it was pretty easy to do. Even without a radar detector, warning drivers has slowed when they saw a Ford Crown Victoria or Chevy Impala Sedan front. Because for the most part, only two types of people have pushed them to-their nature, large American sedans:
The elderly. And the cops.
If you saw the gray hair (and other obvious clues, such as wheel covers son AAA and stickers on the bumper) you have been clear.But the horns went off immediately if the driver seemed to be a young man - and the car had dog dish hubcaps and a spot in the driver's side window.
It is official welcome - and his radar gun is not so easy!
We Americans have been very fortunate in this regard. In most other countries, the cops drive ordinary cars, including cars that you want probably never suspect - even minivans. You never knew who might be in the car by the side of the road. Whereas in the U.S., If you see a Vic or Impala nestled in one of these cuts on the Interstate, you could be next to certain it was a Johnny and take appropriate precautions.
